The Far King Obsession.
Far King products are the culmination of a lifetime of surfing and a passion for making the best possible surf waxes and traction on the planet. Based at Burleigh heads Australia, Far King great wax/ Far king serious tracion are the latest innovations from long term wax entrepreneurs Glen Delaney and Al Cook. With over 20 years experience in making great surf waxes/traction in Australia and the USA the pair have come together again to launch another iconic Australian wax/traction company.
After the sale of our previous business we’ve spent a lot of time surfing. Having the best wax/traction to surf on has always been an obsession. Far King great wax and Far King serious traction are the result of this search. We test everything on the market. Usually our test wax on one side of the board and what we believe to be the best wax on the other side of the board. After all the surfs and all the testing in different water temperatures, Far King great wax is our choice as the best wax available on the planet. In our belief a great wax must not only be great when it first hits the water but it must still be working well after 2 or 3 hours in the water. Far King Wax
Xtra Soft - Cold 14c/58f and below
Far king xtra soft is designed for the surfer who wants a really sticky wax thats easy to apply in even the coldest environments. Designed for those surf addicts whose commitment is unwaved by even the coldest of water temperatures. Wax hardness is a personal choice. Whilst we recommend it in 14c(58f) and below it could also be used by someone in cool waters (15C-18C/ 59-67 F) who likes a super sticky wax.
Xtra Hard – Tropical water 25c and above/75F and above or basecoat.
Far king Xtra hard is the ideal Indo (or similar tropical water fantasy land) surfing wax. Made to give great looking wax beads that provide superior traction for those extra long tropical water perfection sessions. Due to its hardness, and small beads, it’s also ideal to use as a base coat to get the perfect wax beads. Wax hardness is a personal choice. Whilst we recommend it for tropical water it may be used in warm waters by those who like a harder wax or in cooler waters for that perfect looking wax base coat.
Hard – Warm water 20c-25c/66-75F
Far king hard is made for warm water surf fanatics. Designed to give great looking wax beads that provide superior traction even after the longest warm water sessions. Wax hardness is a personal choice. Whilst we recommend it for warm water it may be used in tropical waters by those who like a stickier wax or in cooler waters if you prefer a harder wax when its cool.
Soft - Cool water 15-19c/59F-67F & Above
Far king soft is made for the cool climate sticky wax surf addict. Designed for those who want great traction even after multiple hours in cool water. Wax hardness is a personal choice. Whilst we recommend it in cool water it could also be used by someone who likes a super sticky wax in warmer waters or someone who likes it a bit harder in cold waters.
IMPORTANT FAR KING MESSAGE
Our unique Far King blend of traction additives works best when first applied as a fresh coat. For best Far King results please remove all other waxes before you start using far king great surf wax. Simply remove old wax and apply a fresh far king coat to a cool deck in even strokes rail to rail & nose to tail. Once your board has Far King wax, it is easy just to reapply another Far King coat before each surf.
